Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Carlisle, PA

I recently had a stay at Country Inn and Suites and it's not worth anything more than 80 bucks. PROS: The majority of the staff at the hotel were pleasant, the front desk receptionist was very polite and seemed genuine, the cleaning staff were nice. The continental breakfast was a nice touch. The food was about what one could expect, nothing crazy just a simple but enjoyable meal. CONS: The halls on the 3rd and 2nd floor have this pretty vibrant smell of ash and cigarettes. The "Heated" pool wasn't even remotely warm. When I had asked the front desk about the pool they had said "Ah yeah that pool had been broken and it's not heated." As a retired commercial airline pilot with hundreds of hotel visits, this was the worst experience I've ever had! Booked for 5 days. Called ahead of time to let them know we would be late checking in (9PM) and got a lackadaisical response. Checked in and front desk clerk gave us very little information. A text later asked if I had questions or issues. I responded that I didn't know the hours for breakfast and that there was a dirty washcloth hanging from the shower bar. I recall hearing/reading that housekeeping came every 3rd day to clean rooms. We put all our towels on the floor anticipating housekeeping. This place has really gone downhill. We used to stay here all the time and it used to be wonderful. Not anymore. Main reason for our stay was the pool. There was a broken window covered up with a towel. Made the room very cold. So the kids didn’t go swimming long. And it’s very dirty!!!!! Used bandages on the floor, gum, dirt, mold! Disgusting! Our tv remote didn’t work had 2 different ladies that tried to fix it and it still didn’t work. The lady was never at the front desk we saw her outside sitting in her car smoking. And not just cigarettes we could smell the weed. Never got any cookies because they never refilled them. Runny eggs for breakfast and the hot food was ice cold. Don’t stay here!!!!!

First stay the shower was barely lukewarm. Staff notified on departure of the problem . On return trip was assigned same room which we inquired whether the shower had been fixed. The night attendant did not find any record of our report but gave us another room in which the shower worked fine. On both stays we had a very nice breakfast. Location was nice, near gas station and interstate. Would be interested in returning if ever down that way again.
