Comfort Suites The Colony - Plano West

I stayed here unexpectedly after getting stuck in town for work due to a snowstorm, and unfortunately the experience was pretty disappointing. I work night shift, and when I booked I made sure to inform the hotel multiple times about my schedule. Despite that, they still attempted to call me around 9:00 AM, which is the middle of my sleep time. That was frustrating and felt like my requests weren’t taken seriously. When I walked into the room, the first thing I noticed was that the counter was dirty. I ended up wiping it down myself with Lysol wipes and moved on, but that’s not something a guest should have to do. In the shower, they have wall-mounted dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, but all three were completely empty. When I went to the front desk to ask for individual

Let’s start with the room. Smells like funk as soon as you walk in. We stayed in their largest suite, it’s like a 1 bedroom apartment with a kitchen. $750 a week. The disposal was not working. I go downstairs, they do not have a maintenance man. Like at all. I fixed the disposal. Next, the dishwasher doesn’t work. It never got repaired. Housekeeping speaks zero English. None of them. I speak Spanish, but my wife and daughter don’t and I work. On the subject of housekeeping, once a week if you beg and they’re in there for 5 minutes. The hotel hasn’t been updated since it was built. The transitions between living room, bedroom bathroom and closet are all frayed and missing about 6”, it’s just bare concrete. WiFi, what WiFi? Rooms are not only dirty, but seem unsafe. The door to my room looks like someone had broken in previously. So much damage to the door, stains on carpet, curtains, and walls. Light constantly flickering on and off. Even leading up to my stay I attempted to cancel the stay due to plans changing, but they were unwilling to refund the week leading up. When I attempted to push back the dates by a week, they also were unwilling to move the dates (this was with a week’s notice). I had to either move everything around personally or lose out on the money I spent. I was told I needed to speak to a manager to get a change approved, but was told the manager was out of the country and unable to get back to me. Then I was told that the manager said no I cannot move my dates or get a refund. After all

I stayed 30 min. The room was dirty. Sheets were stained/dirty. AC was not cooling. Room smelled musty. Window curtains did not close for privacy. Total DUMP. Non-refundable room scam. I will not stay at any Choice Hotels in the future.

Very likely I’ll recommend to a friend. Such a convenient spot close to family in Dallas while traveling! And the convenience of the spot close to everything you need (stores, food, etc.) if needed. The room had everything we needed as well! And the breakfast is what you would expect for a continental breakfast, great!! I am grateful I found this hotel when needed last minute!
