Clarion Hotel The Colony - Plano West

Well, they charge me twice. Still haven’t been refunded it. It’s been two weeks now the place was under construction, which I totally understand. No problem with that. I love construction. I do it myself, but really wasn’t all that impressed. Maybe they had not gotten to that section of the hotel for remodeling yet, I’m hoping nothing really that impressive. It was clean employees well, the one I met was very kind. Our TV did not work kind employee said someone would be there to fix it but then never happened but for showering and sleeping waking me up and leaving is what you expect.

The motel was purchased by Hilton and under remodel. Since we stayed 3 nights and over the weekend, we had no noise from the construction. Our cost was $69 per day so this was a pretty good deal. Our check in was easy and Baile was very helpful. The only issue we had was not having our room cleaned and towels replaced on our Sunday. We had to go to the front desk for these. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

It is always so clean and quiet. The staff on on all shifts are very friendly and professional. I stay there for work when im in town and absolutely love it. The housekeeping ladies are the best also, they are all so nice & they take very good care of the hotel and all of my needs when im there! There is renovation construction going on now so there is a little noise here and there, but it's still worth the visit! I travel all over rhe country and I frequent various brands of 4, 3, & 2 star hotels, so I know a good hotel when I find one, and this one is definitely one I recommend!

Positive: The room was huge, smelled good, was very clean and quiet. Check in was super easy. Others complained of construction noise, but we never heard a thing. Negative: With it being under construction, there was no visible address so it was hard to find in the dark. Their grab & go definitely could have had a few more options aside from apples and 2 kinds of muffins. Only water and coffee were offered as beverages.

Imagine showing up to a hotel in Fallujah or Baghdad in 2004, and you’ll have an idea what the experience was like when arriving at the Clarion “hotel” (I’m using that term generously) in The Colony. I travel for a living so I’m used to a few ‘pardon our dust’ situations but this was a level that was unacceptable for a hotel to operate in. Just take a look at the photos to see what I mean. The exterior looks like a war zone complete with debris, caution tape, and mess everywhere. The lobby is almost entirely taken up by construction materials. The hallways have open holes in the ceiling with wiring falling out into the hallway below. The manager refused to refund my booking, essentially forcing me to stay there.
