Clarion Pointe South Portland

This the most reasonably priced hotel in the South Portland area. A plus is the restaurant next door that is attached to the property. The food we ordered there was really good. The bed itself was comfortable, but the room was a been messy. It had received a recent update but the work completed was very sub par. They did offer a better than I was expecting based on other reviews morning breakfast. For the money, we were not dissatisfied.

Positive: The motel staff were friendly, provided a room on first floor when I requested, late checkout, and provided milk for coffee when I asked. The room was great, clean, white bedding made it look even cleaner. I missed the very hearty continental breakfast. Negative: I would have the breakfast go until 10 am for we late sleepers.

The staff were… trying their best. Everything is just sort of not great. The hotel has changed management and names, is formerly a Howard Johnson. This was not clear when we booked so arriving to the Germaine Inn was confusing. We had booking issues (still unsure if that fell on the hotel or the online booking agency, in the end they didn’t even have a king bed for us so we got two queens). During our hour in the lobby a guest came down saying that they moved rooms last night due to noise issues and they were given a dirty room, she cleaned it up but today while her daughter was changing after the pool a couple walked into their room using a key. Great place to stay! The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the location is very convenient. The staff are friendly and helpful, making the stay pleasant. I had a good experience and would definitely stay here again.

Very kind people. I had a very nice stay at Germaine Inn. I can’t wait to visit them again. I had such a pleasant time there. I highly recommend this place. I was very happy with how clean and nice this place is. Great job!
