Clarion Hotel Portland Airport ME

I stayed in a pretty nice room and overall had a good experience. The only issue was the noise from the air conditioner — it was quite loud at night, so I had to use earplugs to sleep. Other than that, everything was great. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Although they don’t offer free breakfast, they provided delicious snacks like donuts and muffins, along with hot coffee on Monday and Tuesday mornings. I really appreciated that thoughtful touch.

The hotel was nicely situated. Close to most things we wanted. Had a very nice pool area. Although I would say it’s seriously needed a good cleaning. Staff was extremely nice. I will say I have never been in a hotel that did not have a free coffee area in the morning. They did offer water. But a coffee area would’ve been nice. The other thing I would say is they need a convenience area not just vending machines full of junk food. For the price I will say that it was adequate.

It’s old and dated. I think some new flooring, paint and furniture would be nice. I wish there was free coffee, tea and hot chocolate like now other hotels. The breakfast was ok but my kids love to make their own waffles like other hotels. Being close to the children’s museum and Hadlock field make it more family friendly.

Absolute convenience. ONLY one complaint, extreme perfume in the cleaning products used before our arrival. We are allergic to this and since the windows did not open we kept the room door open wide! Sufficient for our needs, to be ready for the next morning's early (5 am) bus to NYC from adjacent terminal. Pleasant staff. Glad to know that shuttle could take us to the bus terminal, it is not a far distance but dragging luggage thru the snow would not be a great way to start a trip! Thank you, but do something about the cleaning products, lots of alternatives out there to choose from.

Staff were friendly and location was good for Thompson's Point. That's where the good ends. We stayed four nights and our room was not cleaned once. There was a card in the room that they only clean every 3 days, but I don't know why that never happened. We never had garbage taken out, towels changed, beds made, or soap refilled. By the time we checked out I grabbed a Hefty garbage bag from my car and just filled it to the top. We were locked out of our room for over two hours with two toddlers because the lock broke. Staff fixed it and we were given lip service for a room credit which never came through. Rooms were dingy and in need of updates. Double rooms only have full-size beds. No queen beds.
