Candlewood Suites Jacksonville East Merril Road by IHG

The crew here is wonderful! The afternoon clerk helped us with parking at checkin and the day crew worked with us the next day so we could stay a bit later at checkout as we needed to wait for our Uber. Rooms were great! And at a great value too! Very clean and spacious. And within walking distance of quite a few restaurants and Publix.

We had to stay here while work was being done on our house. This place was absolutely amazing. The staff was super friendly and went above and beyond to make us comfortable. Jennifer at the front desk was so nice and provided us with supplies and even entertainment. They have a lending closet that has games and cooking utensils to use to make cooking a breeze. The room has a little kitchen and they provide dishes with it as well. Through the stress of our house issue this hotel made it a comfortable experience. Thank you. They also have free coffee 24/7 and a little store to purchase items as well. I will definitely be back if I need a hotel

The wifi network was extremely slow on the download side, making it nearly unusable. I let the front desk know, and was told I should call tech support. Seriously. The front desk person obviously didn't care. I said I didn't need tech support, as it was not my hotel or system to troubleshoot. The front desk person said in a condescending tone, "Thank you for telling me it's our hotel. You're the first person to complain." She then asked if I needed a different room. Again, seriously? It's your WIFI.

Do not be fooled by some of the older decor in the lobby area. our rooms were updated and very clean. Staff went out of their way to make our stay very enjoyable. I had to add an extra night once we arrived. Though I had to change rooms, they offered to store my luggage as I attended to some business in the area. The staff even allowed me to view my new room to make sure it was up to what I wanted and needed. Only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5, was the lobby decor.

The staff and manager were more than helpful. The AC was not working in our room and so they moved us into a new upgraded room. They always greet us when we leave and welcome us back upon our return. It's been an awesome stay so far!
