Cabrillo Harbor Santa Catalina island CA

An excellent primitive campground site, Cabrillo Harbor has four designated campsites, but only sites 2 & 3 are reasonable. Site 1 is wedged in between a rock with no clear spot for a tent, and site 4 appears to be a giant boulder. The harbor offers decent protection from waves/wind, but strong currents out of the northwest will pose challenges to your anchoring system if travelling by boat. There is a lone, well-established chaparral bush in the center of the beach which offers a sturdy tie-down for kayaks or a stern anchor. We could not find a latrine onsite, but there are several boulders to hide behind when nature calls. Although fire restrictions were in place at the time of our visit, two fire pits with grates were on sites 2 & 3. There was no picnic bench or other facility there to

This is overall a great campground on catalina with amazingly clear water and great spearfishing.

Absolutely beautiful. Went with a pretty big group and spent about 2 days here at the campground. Really nice snorkeling and hiking in this area. We also went spearfishing and the rock in the harbor is like 10 or 15 foot jumping if you want to jump into the water

Anchored here over night it's was awesome tell a swell from nowhere came in the morning, I had to retrieve my stern anchor in breakers.
