Best Western The Inn at the Fairgrounds

The price was very good. It has a restaurant although we didn't eat there because their hours of operation didn't coincide with our plans. Lots of parking for a larger truck. Easy to get to, rather than having to drive into Syracuse itself. The hotel was a little chilly because it was mid winter but we would definitely stay there again.

We are diamond select rewards members. Are room with a walk in shower that was booked 4 months in advance was given away to someone else that the staff member thought someone else should get without even meeting us first. ADA auto door was locked out by owner. Threshold of the door was so high that we could barely get the cart over it. Room given to us was supposed to be ADA but did not have any grab bars in the bath tub and had a drain in the middle of the floor which we were supposed to take the hand held and shower there while standing with no grab bar and possibly slip on the floor when it is all wet. Hand held was so high we could not even reach it to take it off the holder. Needless to say we could not shower.

A friendly welcome looks different! Breakfast can be offered as included if you don't tell your guests at check-in that it's only available until 9 a.m. Not what you need after a long flight. The closet in the room had a broken door. The hotel has seen better days. Nothing for Best Western to boast about. I wouldn't recommend it.

I stayed at this Best Western during a busy Parents Weekend and paid a premium rate, but unfortunately, it was a really disappointing stay. I had to switch rooms multiple times due to cleanliness issues—including one room that had soiled sheets that was covered in blood! The staff’s response to that was really unhelpful. The front desk person wanted me to remove the dirty sheets myself or sleep in the other bed in the room. Overall, not the experience I expected for the price. Definitely DO NOT recommend and please save your money from this establishment.
