Best Western Plus Kansas City Airport-KCI East

We were just in town overnight, but our stay was great. We were greeted upon arrival & our loyalty status was acknowledged with complimentary bottled water. The room was clean, and well stocked. The WiFi was fast, and we connected easily. Breakfast the next day was pretty good. I am knocking off one point because we really needed better plugs & charging ports. The usb ports on the nightstand were both loose and wouldn’t charge our phones. In today’s world…guests want and need reliable ways to charge phones, tablets, etc.

Positive: For the price? Shockingly well maintained, absolutely helpful and friendly staff! Pool, fitness, breakfast... It was all real, it was good, it all worked! Nothing major was broken! It was all clean! It was comfortable for 4 days! Negative: It said Best Western out in front! I expected a bug infested pot smelling hell hole for the price! It wasn't just nice, it exceeded all of my expectations! Want a complaint? One of the USB ports in one of the lamps didn't work. That's it! LOL!!!

Very pleased with our stay. Very clean rooms, comfy beds, nice clean breakfast area. Great staff and shuttle to airport very helpful!! Driver even checked on me few times when I was sitting outside early (4a) in the brisk morning between his trips back and forth. Which was greatly appreciated with my medical condition and my daughter could quit worrying about me and go back to sleep. Will definitely stay again when back in the area.

2nd time we’ve stayed here before flights back home, last time we will stay. Rooms are old and outdated, place smells of both weed and food like people live here full time and cook in their rooms. Pool was freezing cold and the kids only could stand it for 10 minutes. They are nice that they will pick you up from the rental car facility to drop your car off early, however there morning shuttle doesn’t drop you off at departures like every other hotel but drops you off at arrivals. This has you walk across multiple lanes of traffic and then up stairs to check your bags instead of right out front. We had three bags, car seat bag, two backpacks and three kids under 7. Not convenient, spend a little more and stay elsewhere.

We checked in after 10 hours in the car with our one year old. Upon arrival, I could see that the conditions of the hotel on the outside and in the lobby were not great, but decided to give it a chance because we were so exhausted from our drive. The bell carts were old, dirty, rusty, and falling apart. The smell is the first thing I noticed once entering the elevator and the floor our room was on. Upon entering our room, we quickly noticed a strong musty smell and how filthy all surfaces were. It was dusty, dirty, and stained. It was definitely unsafe and unsanitary for our toddler who crawls on the floor and gets into everything. We quickly walked out of the room and decided we were not comfortable staying here.
