Berkshires Untold

We had a truly wonderful stay over the Thanksgiving weekend. We stayed there with our big bernedoodle, and all three of us felt incredibly well-received and taken care of by the entire team. The room was very comfortable, with nice quality sheets and perfect bathroom amenities. Very nice lobby area, with superb drinks and some good food (I would love to see a burger on the menu though one day!). It is a great place to stay if you are in the Berkshires, and at an extremely good price to value ratio, and we will definitely be going back!

Positive: I really enjoyed the ambiance this hotel provided. The outdoor seating was perfect for a beautiful late summer afternoon. Staff were friendly and kind. Room was clean. Negative: Food choices were subpar. Bathroom floor needed a good scrub. For a Saturday check-in and Sunday check-out, it was over $500 which was ridic. There was nothing special about this hotel (looks like a motel 6 turned luxury) to make someone pay that much.

I was really looking forward to staying here, but the massive storm that came in unexpectedly forced me to cancel, and I gave them 24 hours' notice. I tried to rebook for later in the week once it was safe to travel and they wouldn't allow it without paying full price for another booking. For something like weather, at least a partial refund and, most certainly, a change of dates should be part of their policy. I certainly couldn't control the safety of the roads.

Overall, the experience of staying at this hotel was fine. However, an incessant air of feeling duped clung to our one night stay and left a lingering dissatisfaction. When considering the basics of locking door, average bedding/mattress, relatively clean, and functioning necessaries, it had all that was required. What was lacking was a feeling of transparency and authenticity. The marketing is very well done, so much so to the point of suggesting a large four star resort. The photography is outstanding. It is accurate, but shot at such angles as to distort reality. The images make the parking lot entirely disappear, suggesting spacious outdoor seating where in truth there are only a small selection of seating options separated from the parking lot by some bushes. We used to stay here when this was Lifehouse, before it got sold to Untold. Pretty much the same hotel and the same prices as before. We call it an Instagram Motel because it seems millennial somehow. It's nice, the rooms are clean and modern. It feels a cut above the norm without being dumb in any way. The one thing I would change if I could is the scents of the soap/shampoo etc are really, really strong and perfumed. The whole place smells like someone was overzealous with the air freshener. It's not a deal breaker and Untold is our choice. We stay night a month probably 6-8 times per year.
