Baymont Inn & Suites Naperville

Me and my husband stayed here twice. The staff were very nice and helpful beyond their duties from the concierge to the housekeeping. Every time it was very affordable and the complimentary wifi was a major plus for us. The complimentary breakfast was nice also. Overall it's a great chain and we keep them in mind any time we need a hotel.

I reserved a two double bed room in no smoking area, I got what I asked for until the third night out of four. I had to keep window open because smoke smell makes me feel sick, I get headaches so it was hard to bear it. The first night they gave me a one bed room and they did not even give a roll away bed, the second and third night in smoking area, I was getting sick, until the fourth night I was able to sleep better. It seems there are bed bugs, my mother put sodium bicarbonate on the bed clothes then I could stop scratching. They said it happened because I made my reservation through a third party but I used their web site.

Basic hotel. No pool, the exercise room consisted of an exercise bike and treadmill, but were questionably clean. The sheets had cigarette burn holes in them, and the night stand had visible burns on them. Old TV in the room and the color was failing. Lobby and main areas smelled strongly of smoke. In the mornings I smelled 'odd' things. I found cards for 'escort services' stuck in places in the hallways and I don't think the evening staff cared at all. Mattress was extremely hard. Outside doors are not locked or room key controlled. Internet service is available - but very slow. Speed tests had a low ping in the ~30ms range, upload in the 12kbps, download in the 34kbps range the two evenings I was there. What a dump. I can't believe this filthy place is open. First off, the sheets usually have body fluid stains all over them. The walls are so thin, I could hear people going at in the next room almost every night of my stay. Plus the front desk people have a terrible attitude.

So this place is old, run down, but it was clean. The staff was good to us. Can't complain when it's so cheap.
