avid hotel Richmond North - Ashland by IHG

3 of our family members stayed here for a volleyball tournament in the area. Overall, it was a good choice as it was comfortable and close to the sports complex (about 5 mins). Initially, when we pulled in, we were a little worried as the hotel backs up to a trailer park and it is pretty unsightly. But, once inside, the hotel is clean and nice. Staff was very helpful and polite. Breakfast was included with the stay, which was great. The selection was minimal, but it was hot food rather than just muffins. We had two minor issues while we stayed. One was that every night it sounded like the room above us was moving furniture around while we were trying to sleep. I guess this really is an issue with another guest, but I don't know what type of insulation they had between floors, but

I cannot say enough good things about my experience! Very cost effective and still with friendly and helpful staff (Desk associate helped me re-stack my luggage on the cart when i knocked it off coming in!). Excellent breakfast prepared by Trisha who was a sweetheart. I couldn’t find a speck of dirt, dust, mildew or mold in that room, which put me at ease. And this was a pet friendly room! My dog Macey and I stayed 5 nights and will for sure use this same hotel the next time I visit my family,

Positive: Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. It was very quiet. Negative: Apparently they don’t bother mopping the floors in the rooms. I liked the idea of vinyl tile over carpet, but it was filthy. I wiped up some spilled water with a white towel - it was brown afterwards. Also the shower floor was not clean.

Staff was super nice and helpful! Cute room but tiny and no closet. And for being a new hotel, they needed new, not VERY old and thin, towels!! And more than 2 when there are no racks to hang them. Breakfast good. The rooms need soundproofing badly!!! We could hear the people above us!! SO LOUD. They were dragging things across the floor, dropping things, stomping, we could hear their voices and their tv!! It was unbelievable!!

Contemporary, minimalistic furnishings but all you need! Cube fridge in room; microwave downstairs in public area. Clean. No closets but plenty of hooks along wall. Desk chair and desk. Walk-in shower and bath essentials provided. Friendly staff. Rooms are smaller than many hotels but all we needed for our 4-night stay. Cable; no streaming channels but setting for link to guest's personal plan, however we never got ours to cast properly. Still had plenty to choose on cable. Breakfast was surprisingly well stocked with good variety: yogurts, oatmeal & fixings, cereal, boiled and scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, breakfast meat, bread, bagels, muffins, and fresh fruit. Coffee/tea/cocoa bar 24/7. Public area has seating with tech hookups. Some snacks are available in lobby including ramen
