Aloft Secaucus Meadowlands

The location for NJ, NYC is great, but this hotel isn't my favorite in the area. I stay here often for the past few years for work. For at least a year, there are always beetles in rooms. I complained last year and am surprised to still see them. The water leaking under the tile floor that squishes up when you walk around the bathroom is gross. Last month the water kept shutting off in the shower everyday. The beds and furniture are mostly fine. This hotel could use a deep clean and refresh. The aesthetic is fine for solo travel. I don't stay in these with my wife the rooms are not comfortable and lack basic privacy.

There was a serious lack of management supervision during our stay. The front desk agent was visibly intoxicated and spent most of his time at the bar or outside smoking with the bartender and others instead of doing his job majority of the time during my stay. I was staying here with my family for a holiday vacation and felt extremely unsafe knowing that someone in that condition was handling room keys and guest access. To make matters worse, he gave a room key to someone in my party without asking for any identification. This was completely unacceptable and a major safety concern. Aside from that the room was clean and was close to New York.

As a member of the LGBTQ+ community who consistently books individual rooms as well as multiple room blocks annually at this property for groups and tours, I feel it is important to share my observations regarding recent changes. Over time, this property has been a preferred choice due to its reliability, professionalism, and inclusive approach. However, the overall approach from the sales department, the appearance of the hotel, and the consistency of customer care provided by the front-end team have noticeably declined since the departure of prior staff members. Previously, working with Tinisha and Adaline in the sales department was seamless and efficient. I had an excellent experience thanks to Tatiana and Carolyn. Throughout my stay, they were warm, amiable, and genuinely focused on making sure I had everything I needed to enjoy my time there. Their attention to detail really stood out—they didn’t just handle the basics, they noticed the little things that make a stay feel personal and comfortable. What impressed me most was how naturally they went above and beyond. They asked thoughtful questions to understand what would complement my experience and shared helpful information about amenities I might have overlooked. It never felt forced; they simply wanted to make sure I was taken care of. Because of their customer-focused approach and professionalism, my stay was smooth, relaxing, and memorable.
