WoodSpring Suites Gurnee - Chicago

Booked a room here while attending a nearby event. The front desk team verified my reservation without delay and guided me through the check-in process. The room environment was quiet enough to relax after a long day. Overall service felt organized.

The staff are all very kind and courteous. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The laundry room is easy to access and is available 24/7 which is very convenient. The only complaint is that the coffee is subpar. I would stay again.

Upon arriving there were many red flags. Sketchy people loitering outside and smoking. The air smelled like cigarettes. But I decided to give the hotel a fair chance. Went in and was greeting by a nice and helpful worker. Upon getting checked in and getting my room. I entered the room and it was something I didnt expect. The pictures provided by the business were not helpful at all. I should've read the reviews before booking. The room had a horrible smell. Holes in the wall and holes in my bathroom door, mold in the bathroom and walls are dirty. My partner felt unsafe at this location so we decided to check out right away and book another hotel.

The rooms are clean. The amenities are clean and in working order. The people who work here have been kind and extremely helpful. The noise level is perfect: quiet during the day and overnight, but a tiny bit of people moving around from 5-8ish pm. Just enough of hearing the murmur of people in the hall to let you know you’re not alone in the world.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience at WoodSpring Suites Gurnee was absolutely unacceptable. We arrived for our 3 PM check-in to find a lobby full of unsupervised, screaming children and several sketchy-looking individuals loitering outside, which made for a very uncomfortable first impression. After waiting far too long to be helped, it was obvious the front desk representative was overworked — though to her credit, she remained kind and professional. Once we finally got to our room, things went from bad to worse. There was hair in the bed, a dirty kitchenette, and a loose toilet seat. We immediately requested a new room, only to be told that couldn’t be done because the cleaning person had quit — this came directly from the manager. We then asked for clean sheets inste
