Baymont by Wyndham Gurnee

Do not go here. It is a hotel of nightmares. I cannot stress enough how terrifying this experience was. I am a homeless veteran who stayed here 10 days paid by the VA until I got a place on base. Shower had no hot water, the tv randomly would stop working. On day 8 of my stay, a huge leak started in the bathroom above the toilet. I told the staff and for 36 hours they did nothing, no offer of switching rooms. I made them come look at it. I could not use the bathroom without getting rained on. After a day I spoke with the manager and no apology, I asked why I wasn't offered a different room, she said none were clean. I reported them to corporate and a few hours later I received a call from the first front desk employee I told about the leak, he lied about what i said, that I said the

This was an amazing get-away for us. The room had some age on it but was very clean and well worth the price. Our family had a Suite which easily fit the 4 of us. Six Flags is just across the street and EASY to get to. The Staff was all friendly and more than willing to accomodate us. Best of all was the awesome delicious hot breakfast. I would certainly recommend this and would return if possible.

Positive: The king bed was so comfortable! Negative: The pool was tiny and cold. The outside was not well kept. Garbage was spilling out of the cans. The breakfast was mediocre.

I would not waste your time or money to stay here! First of all lie to when booking the hotel! Pool was out which fine but state on website that it only down for the weekend when clearly it under construction? Secondly when ask about this as we booked for the pool also. I was told it has been out of service for months that have to update website every few days. Your not allowed to bring food to your room! No I'm serious! And bed slid across the floor of room litteraly I sat on it just moved like nothing! Elevator has a max occupancy of only 4 people 🤷🏻‍♀️ oh the room is not like picture! It is outdated and misleading however it is clean!

We were excited about returning to Baymont. We had stayed at another Baymont hotel years ago. However, the room looked a little worn. Given only 1 bar of soap to use for both the sink and shower. Shower have low water pressure. Instead of 11:00 a.m., we asked for a later check out time. We were told we could leave 11:30 a.m. Did not help much and we wound up leaving much earlier as we could not get things done and get back in time to check out. We understand rooms need to be turned over but the hotel was not packed by any means and we could have been accommodated. Check in and out was easy.
