WoodSpring Suites Ankeny Des Moines

We got there late and someone was readily available to check us in. The room was very clean, I loved that there wasn't carpet so you really could tell how clean the floors were. The bed was a little uncomfortable but it wasn't too bad. I stayed with my sister and she said the bed was great, could have been uncomfortable for me only because at home I'm spoiled with a top of the line mattress. We were very pleased with our stay! I booked a room here to stay for nearly a month. Paid almost 1400$. I got my dates mixed up and tried to check in a day later. I called the hotel and tried explaining my situation to my receptionist who immediately went off the deep end. She was very nasty to me. I asked if there was anything she could do. She told me that she could not accommodate me and my family whatsoever. She told me they didn’t have rooms left and a refund was out of the question since I booked 3rd party. Staying at a hotel to save money for a rental home only to be denied the room with no refund is a terrible situation. I’ve stayed here before and looked over the druggies being awake all night because of the affordability. I will not book here again.

The most unprofessional hotel I’ve ever stayed at. There was mold in the bathroom with a shower that didn’t work. Notified the front desk who said “we’ll have someone come spray some bleach. Never showed up. For someone like me with severe allergies, this could’ve been really bad. I was told a manage would be in on Monday and to contact then and what a surprise they weren’t available. It’s been almost a month and they refuse to call me back or respond to my emails. Had no choice but to contact their local health department. Unreal.

I was only here for a very short stay, the staff is friendly enough, and I just got back from a Halloween wedding. I checked in late when I got here and I have to leave very early for a funeral. I walked in and there was a cockroach crawling over my dress for tomorrow. I'm going to check for bed bugs too, and make sure I don't have any more cockroaches in my bags so I don't bring anything home with me. The second floor kind of smells like weed too. So I would definitely give this place only a star. We also have to take our own trash with us, isn't that is what I pay them for? This place is kind of low class and grossed me out so I won't be staying here again. I also left early. I would go ahead and just spring for a better hotel and not stay here.

I will never stay here again. However it is clean. It needs new carpet the walls need painted even even though they are clean. The whole hotel needs an update. If you don’t take your garbage out they charge you $50. If you dirty the room they charge you $50. If you don’t clean up after yourself they charge you $50. The are mediocre at best, but it is a place to lay your head that is clean
