Windmill Suites Surprise - Phoenix, Ascend Hotel Collection

The only thing good about this place is the location. The rooms are dated, the pullout couch beds are all broken. I had four different rooms, with the same problem. None of the phones work in the rooms to contact the front desk. The pool was dirty and never cleaned. One of the boys on my team threw a pepperoni into the pool, and it stayed there for four days. My room only came with one shower towel. And the Fire/smoke detector in the room, kept chirping and the desk wouldn’t replace the problem until the next day. I had to replace the batteries myself. It’s sad. It looks like it was a nice place 20 years ago.

The hotel is very convenient to most shopping and events in Surprise and the breakfast is one of the best I've had as far as you can expect from a free breakfast. The room was extra clean and mostly quiet. However, the beds in our two queen suite while very comfortable, are much smaller than queen size. They measure 52 inches wide and 72 inches long, which is also smaller than a full size mattress. The tv works well but only gets direct tv which is very limited on programming. There's no ability to watch Netflix or any other streaming services. The WI-FI is basically non existent. It wouldn't load on any of our devices and the clerk said that they couldn't do anything about it. I will probably consider Comfort Suites next time.

Got kicked out of Comfort Inn Chandler - Phoenix South I-10, 7400 W Boston St, Chandler, AZ 8522, even though my room was extended, still mad about that haha but Windmill was able to check us in the same day for a week, the counter lady Cassandra was really friendly and we got an extension with no issue, great breakfast, lots of families around but overall a great hotel. Will definitely come here again. Nice place

Check-in was super easy and quick, we liked the tasteful holiday decorating in the lobby. The hotel was quiet, it was a pleasant surprise to hear baseball batting practice when we opened the windows. The room was a little musty when we came in, but plenty large for the two of us. The AC kept us cool, and the shower was nice and hot in the morning. I will say that the refrigerator got too cold and froze our soft drink overnight. I visited the fitness area, the treadmill wasn't working.

It was good location, quiet (except for the DV event with all the police), hotel met our needs for the trip. Breakfast was good. Staff was a little hard to deal with. Asked for blanket and desk clerk gave many lame excuses (no staff to get it, she couldn't leave desk, one not in the back area, to late to get help to assist her & to late to find one, etc) for not getting one, but finally did bring a blanket up. Room has a funky scent to it that couldn't get staff to get cleaning staff to spray over and help make it less funky. Another clerk didn't want to give late checkout (by one hour) until the day of leaving, not ahead of time so could better plan our leave. She finally said ok since it was for only an hour difference. Why is the first instinct to say NO, and not "Let me see how I c
