We just returned from three nights at the Yurt Village, at the amazing Yurt #7 and Yurt #8. Always a wonderful retreat! We realized on this trip that it has been over twenty years now that we have been making a yearly visit to the yurt village each fall! My son has grown up (32 yo) with this being one of his favorite traditions, and we are so grateful. This village has all the feeling of being remote and quiet, while being in easy access to Bryson City and the Nantahala Outdoor Center, and, going in the late fall, gives a chance to see the beautiful leaves and have it be extra quiet. The haunting sound of a real steam engine train whistle across the gorge in the morning is truly special! Yes, it can be chilly; but the extra blankets and small heater make this a comfortable stay, and the e
We love this place! This was our third stay.||I discovered the yurts over ten years ago, we returned last year extending our stay by an extra night. This time we were bring friends along and this was the main stay of our road trip from the UK.|We stayed 4 nights.||Our favourite yurts are 7 & 8 (waterfall & Gorge) as these were not available for the first night we opted for the yurts nearest the pond (6 & 1) switching to 7 & 8 thereafter.||As we had children with us we highlighted our requirement for plenty of linen for the futons as we had been short the year before. The linens provided were super clean, smelled fresh and were of very good quality.||The bathroom facilities were clean and heated, we have never experienced problems in this area. There’s a short walk up to the washrooms via s
The overall yurt village and bathrooms were great. Unfortunately, Yurt 7 was very musty and definitely had mold. I had an asthma attack, but we made it work for one night. The linens were clean. Just the structure itself needs some deep cleaning.
We stayed in the yurt village. Everything was clean and comfortable. There were private bathrooms stocked with toiletries and linens. The staff was all very nice. Definitely recommend!
Went zip lining for the first time ever here. My guides Colby and Berkeley were super personable and took great care of us while guiding and teaching us the proper way to zip line. I also really enjoyed how they also gave us some history lessons of the area and facts about the nature of the Smokies. This is a really cool course and it’s amazing how well designed it is. It may seem a little nerve-racking as a first timer, but they made me feel safe and I had a blast. I’ll definitely be returning when I’m in the area again!
