This campground is great. We were hesitant at first but so glad we decided to book reservations here. Yes close does but friendly neighbors. Fire pits make awesome conversation spots and allow the sounds of the water rushing through. The bathrooms are extremely clean. Located close to all places we wanted to see. Above all we had heard the internet was not strong enough to stream but it was perfect. No problems at all. I would recommend to anyone interested.

We stayed in our Class C RV in an interior site instead of a river spot. The river spots are somewhat small even though large rigs were put in there. It slopes down so leveling would be a pain. All the spots throughout are pretty tight. The entrance is a big steep and off a fairly busy road off of a very busy road across the river. ||The wide river was beautiful and the water was cool and refreshing. We saw kayakers and tubers enjoying the water. We didn’t suffer from road noise but an early train horn caught us off guard. The train tracks were less than 100 ft from our backed in 31’ rig. ||The interior sites have small trees planted that will be nice when they mature a bit more. Good water pressure. The bathhouse with laundry area was very nice! You can sit on the back deck and listen to

My family and I spent the weekend at grumpy Bear campground in Bryson City North Carolina. We liked being so close to town and enjoyed the river being on the river, for fishing and the crazy grandchildren who wanted to get in the cold River during November. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The bath house was clean, warm and plenty of hot water.

Our family had the best time! The tipi camping and Native American show were highlights! Bonus that it is riverside for fishing and wading. Activities onsite like Tubing and gem Mining. The bathrooms were immaculate and private not a bathhouse style. Laundry available. The store had many items and Having ice and firewood was very convenient. The owners were very responsive and accommodating. My mom didn’t want to tipi camp so they set up a 5th wheel for her close to the tipis. We cannot wait for our next visit!

I can’t say enough about how wonderful our experience was at this campground. The staff are super nice, always working hard and have the most amazing attitudes. Our tee pee was ready for us and had a ac unit to help keep the temp comfortable. The bathhouses were always spotless and clean and fully stocked. It was a laid back, family friendly super fun place to stay. Close to Bryson city and Cherokee and right across the street from Darnell farms. The train even came by every day. Our family loved every minute of our time here and we will definitely return!!!
