Historic Calhoun House Hotel

Met them today . . . . My mom and sister have been going to them every year for a long time until the flood. Since the flood, they have been closed. . . And seeing how they are getting up in age, I dont think they have the strength necessary to remodel the damage downstairs. . . . It would be so great to see and investor try and help them. They truly bring life to this house and could use all the help they can get! These people are genuinely good people and love the community, but they just need help from the community they have served for so long! 💔

Just spent 2 nights at Calhoun House as part of our road trip and what a great historical hotel to stay in. Luke and his family were superb hosts and nothing is too much trouble. Luke is a true southern gent and has many a historical tale to tell. Leila and her breakfast were plentiful with real southern breakfast being served. The decor throughout the hotel is in keeping with the period and is stunning. Sitting on the porch at night people watching is fab. Great location for the railroad and bars or restaurants. Bryson City and Calhoun house are worth a visit.

Excellent vacation spot. The location was central to all the places we wanted to see. Of course the mountains were the star of the show, and so close. The town was a short walk down the hill, with excellent food choices, and shopping for fun and unique items. The Calhoun House was an excellent choice and I would definitely return again. The room was clean, well lit with sunshine, had excellent and above normal items, from soaps to food items. The bed was soft and very comfy, I slept like a baby. The wrap around porch was a plus, with parking right out the door, easy unload and load. The location was very private and quiet too.

We've stayed here several times, and we love it so much! The suites are comfortable and thoughtfully stocked. The Inn has modern updates but retains its beautiful historic character. The views are gorgeous. The rocking chairs on the porch beg for you to sit a spell with a nice drink. It's a quick walk into town for shopping, dining (and a brewery!). And it's a quick drive to great hiking spots. When we stay here, the adults are happy and the kids are happy. What more can you ask for?

We had a great stay at the Calhoun House. We stayed in the Movie Suite and enjoyed looking at all of the memorabilia. The breakfast provided was perfect for us. We enjoyed sitting in the rocking chairs for morning coffee and seeing the mountains in the distance. It was an easy walk to downtown - restaurants, shops, and the train depot. I highly recommend the Calhoun House.
