University Inn at San Luis Obispo

Room was basic and clean. Shower was nice. Breakfast was a joke. Your choices were: a microwaved biscuit sandwich, a truck stop pastry, or a banana. Juice or Water was extra. Definitely not a breakfast and not worth the markup on the room. Property needs a new coat of paint.

Positive: Nothing. The room is was dirty and the toilet was broken and the room wasn?t even made up. If there were any ratings below 0, those ratings would have been more accurate. Negative: Everything. Will not stay there again and will let anyone who knows who intends to stay there. In fact, more members of my family stayed there had had several issues with the University Inn.

The breakfast provides very limited choices and the taste is not very good.

I had one of the worst hotel experiences at University Inn at San Luis Obispo. We booked a room with a Queen bed, but when we arrived, they gave us a Full-size bed instead. It was very obvious, and when we brought it up, the staff refused to acknowledge the mistake. Instead of helping us, they were dismissive, unprofessional, and completely unwilling to take responsibility. Their attitude turned a simple issue into a huge inconvenience for us. We were passed from one person to another, and no one cared enough to fix the problem. The lack of professionalism and basic customer service was shocking. I would never stay here again, and I strongly recommend that other travelers avoid this place.

The owner totally took advantage of my son. 2 boys were staying there (but their friend was with them at check in, he is a student so did not need a hotel room). Owner accused them of having 3 people in the room but only 2 stayed there and said he’d kick them out unless they paid him $75. My son paid cuz he was scared to be kicked out. Owner is shady-beware.
