Garden Street Inn, A Kirkwood Collection Hotel

A cute B&B in the heart of SLO, with a wonderful breakfast and complimentary wine and cookies, which felt very welcoming. The rooms were a bit tired and very light though. Our only request for our booking was a quiet room away from the road, and we got a corner room on the ground floor with traffic noise all night. Was only able to sleep with earplugs and an eye mask. Perhaps in a quieter room, this would be a lovely find.

It’s truly a six-star hotel. I stayed here for one night while traveling from SF to LA, and the experience was excellent overall. The room was beautiful, the bed was very comfortable, and the interior design was impressive. The complimentary breakfast was outstanding as well—on the day I stayed, they served a spinach and cheese omelette that was delicious. I gave it 5 stars because the parking was about 200 meters away on the street, which I didn’t expect. Aside from that minor inconvenience, everything was top-notch.

We had a wonderful three-night stay! It was special revisiting my college town 15 years later, so much has changed but Garden Street Inn is just as lovely as ever. We stayed in the Our Town room, it was gorgeous. Sunny, south facing windows! There was some street noise in the evenings, but it was pretty quiet given the Thanksgiving holiday. Breakfast was great and the location is unbeatable. Incredible value for the cost. The whole place was spotless and service was great. Can’t wait to come back soon!

Warm welcoming by the receptionist Mark. Generously poured complimentary Glas of wine in the evening. Charming, English style influenced interior. Breakfast of the day! (If it’s not to you taste, you still can get toast, cereal etc.) - however the breakfast Burrito served on that very day tasted very good. The hotel is only a few hundred meters away from the city centre. Overall makes this hotel a difference!

This Inn has so many positive qualities. It's very convenient to downtown San Luis Obispo. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room was quite large and comfortable and the price is reasonable.||On the quirky side, the bathroom didn't have a sink. Usually in similar cases the sink is right outside the bathroom. But ... in this room (the room is called "Close to Home") the sink was on the other side of a good-sized room right near the bed. Not the most convenient thing if you get up in the middle of the night and don't want to disturb your companion! So, yeah, quirky. Have no idea what other rooms are like in terms of layout.||To reiterate, the Inn is overall great and we would definitely stay again the next time we're in SLO. I didn't mention that they provide a solid hot breakfast.
