Union Square Plaza Hotel

Room was quite small but had the essentials; mini-fridge, daily room cleaning with towel replacement, and hot water. The area is close by downtown so easy walkable distance. The building itself is old; creeky floors, thin walls, and odd smells. The bed sheets didn't fully cover the bed. The shower has soap and shampoo but recommend you bring your own. There was no heat in the room and the window frame was broken, causing a draft. I had to use the window's latch to prompt up the top frame to keep it from opening. I asked to turn the heat on (one of those old radiator heaters). The man warned me if they turn on the heat, it would be the whole building. Heat was on for one night and next night they turned it off, again in the 50s. Overall: good for a one night emergency stay when all other pl

Hotel is in a nice location. I love that it is just a block away from the Nintendo store, many nice shops, and the ACT is right across the hotel as well.|On the corner across the street, there is a 24-hour restaurant, so if you need food, it is there.|There is also a Japanese restaurant right next door, and the food is good and at a great price.||The room is nice as it is, tv is definitely out of date, but that is okay. There is Xfinity tv and a great selection to pick from to watch.||The neighborhood is the TL area, so it is best not to wander around at night, especially if you are on your own. But if you are in a pair or group, you will be fine.||Overall, it was a good experience.

The hotel was clean staff was efficient the hotel looks like they are working on making it better like remolding. The windows I think should have a protective screen on the outside because if a family with young children had the room we were in (401) I was able to manually open the window and someone can easily fit their body outside and have a horrible accident.

Union Square Plaza Hotel – 10-Night Stay (11/07/25–11/17/25) Total Paid: $1,255.10 Our stay at this hotel was one of the most disappointing and unnecessarily stressful experiences we've had. To begin with, housekeeping never cleaned our room a single time during our 10-night stay. The only time the housekeepers entered was unannounced while we were asleep, which is a serious safety and privacy concern. But the biggest issue came from a senior staff member, whose behavior was shockingly unprofessional. When we requested a late checkout, this person loudly announced to us that they had “told everyone not to grant you a late checkout,” speaking in a hostile and confrontational tone. Unsafe location. Too much homeless in the area and even worse at night. Human poop and pee are everywhere on the streets. The hotel is also very old. But they lock their door at all times with entry key card. Take note they don't have AC but luckily I went to visit during fall so it was alright. The rooms and bathrooms are old and tight. Not much space to walk around. The staff was nice and helpful at least with technical issues. It's also great that everything is nearby. Won't recommend staying here alone due to poor quality and terrible location. Not safe for kids or women. You can stay but don't go out at night.
