Turnpike Motel

We had an opportunity to stay at this motel for 5 nights in July while our son was in an area hospital and were very pleased with it. The first night we needed two beds and the room was as attractive as you would find in motels/hotels costing much more. The other four nights, only my husband and I were there so we switched to a one bed room. It was nice but not quite as attractive as the previous room. We are senior citizens and prefer to eat in our room so we appreciated the microwave and refrigerator. It also had an ironing board & iron. The lady in the office was very nice and inquired about how our son was getting along after his surgery. The area offers various places to eat and shop. The parking lot was well lit. They made some upgrades over time...if u need to rest from driving without a reservation then this is a good choice.

This hotel is right up the street from my job so it was very convenient for me when I needed a quick place to hunker down for the night. The guy at the window came off as dry at first but over time he warmed up. The room itself was good. Hot shower, cable TV, comfy bed. Though they do need better pillows on that bed.

I have been staying at this hotel because they sold the house I was residing in. So I came here. You would think being at a residence for over a year some management would have leniency towards you. Never miss a week of payments. It might come a few days later. But them people get paid every week. The management of this hotel is very nasty. She customer service skills sucks. Who ever is the owner needs to reevaluate who he has working for him. They are very unethical people. I will find a way so people will not spend or stay at this hotel. Run, don’t walk away from this place! I don’t know who reviewed this place on Hotels.com, but they must have paid people to review it because it was not “very good” or “recently remodeled” - it is dirty, scary, old, run down, and the staff didn’t speak to us at all. There is obvious water damage in the room, so the bathroom door is stuck open because it is swollen from being wet at the bottom. The microwave looks like it is from 1975. There is a huge mirror by the bed, with body print smudges on it. The coverlet on the bed had dirt or dust or something else gross and gritty on it. Considering the smudges on the mirror, I imagine the room was not cleaned. They have “no refund” printed everywhere - bc they know that is what people will instantly ask for.
