Tru by Hilton Ft. Lauderdale Airport

This was by far the worst experience I have had at a Hilton brand hotel. As a Diamond member, I am well aware of the benefits associated with my status, including complimentary bottled water and snacks. However, these were not offered at check-in. We had to request them, and the front desk associate responded with visible reluctance and a dismissive attitude, instructing us to return to the desk to pick up the water ourselves. The room issue was even more concerning. Although the temperature initially felt comfortable, later in the evening it became cold. When we turned on the heater, the HVAC unit was extremely loud—loud enough to make it impossible for our family to sleep. The location is good. The atmosphere was good. The room were decent. Shower needed attention in the corners. Shower could have been cleaner. Pretty good for the value. The Noise level was good. The front desk service was good. I like individual toiletries for amenities. TV was great. It had all the channels I like. The outside furniture needed attention. Maybe add complete coverage over patio and furniture will not look so bad. The breakfast was very good. It had all the items a person would look for.

Positive: Lobby/outdoor seating area Negative: Room not for light sleepers. We were awoken every hour by a/c turning on/off thus allowing the noise of folks walking down hallway with luggage to wake us up.

The room was not cleaned properly. The floor was sticky, and there was a strong, unpleasant odor throughout the room. All of the usual bathroom amenities—soap, lotion, and other essentials—were completely empty. The location is convenient, close to Fort Lauderdale Airport and the cruise port, which is a plus. However, at $427 per night and carrying the Hilton name, the experience fell far below expectations. I would not recommend staying here.

This hotel is perfect for travelers staying a single night before an early flight or a cruise. It is NOT for any kind of extended stay. The lobby is bright, modern and welcoming. The staff is young, friendly and efficient. The valet staff is excellent. (Use of the valet is required - there is no self-parking permitted here.) Here's the thing, the rooms are clean and well maintained, but there is no closet (just a bar and a few hangers) and no bureau or drawers of any kind. Also no microwave or coffee maker (though coffee is available in the lobby 24/7). The bed was supremely comfortable, but the room felt almost cramped with 2 of us (a single traveler who doesn't mind living out of their suitcase would be fine).
