Hyatt Place Fort Lauderdale Airport - South & Cruise Port

This has been my go-to hotel throughout 2024 and into 2025, and for good reason. While I am a loyal brand member, Hyatt consistently delivers an accommodating and reliable experience at this location. The staff are friendly, helpful, and genuinely thoughtful. The rooms are comfortable, the on-site food is solid, and the concierge truly stands out—professional, engaging, and incredibly supportive. Handling packages was seamless and completely hassle-free. Even without membership benefits, I would confidently recommend this hotel for its excellent amenities, convenient access to transportation, and overall affordability.

The location from airport is great and the location of nearby restaurants is even better, all within 10 min slow walking distance. Airport shuttle was great with friendly driver who helped with our luggage. Entrance and lobby very clean with a relaxing friendly atmosphere. Our accessible room 414 was spacious with wonderful view and well insulated windows ( highway noise in the distance was zero). The room also had a nice area with countertop that had a microwave and coffee maker. The breakfast had the usual morning staples, scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, pancakes, toast and of course orange juice with coffee. Nice hotel for a one night stay before a cruise. Check in was quick and easy. Room was huge, with a mini fridge and sofa bed. Beds were good but pillows were really flat. Water pressure in shower was great. Nice full breakfast in the morning and enjoyed the outdoor heated pool as well. There is a Panda Express basically next door as well as a Chipotle and Taco Bell close by. There is also a grocery store about a 10 minute walk called NetCost that we used to buy our alcohol for the cruise.

My biggest complaint is their website said it’s $30/shuttle round trip. Not $30/person. So we checked in expecting $30 for the ride to the port. But it was $90! Great location, walking distance of a cute shopping area and restaurants. For the price of these rooms they’re really small. You can barely be in the bathroom to close the door. There’s barely an inch between the door and toilet when closing it. Also, The rooms are very weirdly split, and the TV has to be at a weird angle to watch from bed. No bed bugs at least, I always check. There was however a weird black smudgy stain on the pullout couch so my son just ended up sleeping in bed with us.

Wonderful hotel-- GREAT LOCATION if traveling to cruise port. Lots of shopping and restaurants a very short walk from hotel. We didn't have a rental car, if I knew about restaurants could have avoided airport food before we arrived... Hotel was quiet, met all our needs. Easy shuttle (private company so there is a charge) to cruise port. Easy free shuttle from airport to Hotel.
