TownePlace Suites by Marriott Ames

Updated - Feeling underwhelmed. We booked this hotel solely because it was one of two available that offered a hot tub. We’ve been here 2/3 nights and so far each night the hot tub has been luke warm. Like not even bathwater hot. I called the front desk this afternoon and asked for the heat to be turned up tonight and it did not happen. Same luke warm tub. I asked the woman front desk if they could turn it up for tomorrow night and she told me that “Iowa state law dictates that public hot tubs can’t be over 99 degrees” I’m not sure if the staff is aware but it’s posted online on the US Consumer Product Safety Commission website that the max hot tub temperature in Iowa is 104 degrees. My kids were really looking forward to this while we were visiting family here so i hope they can fig

Wife and I stayed for a few days with some friends, super friendly staff, even let us use their business room for board games. We were told the price was 290, ended up paying 250 with early check in. They were extremely accommodating to our baby and loved seeing the happy staff whenever we strolled by. Will absolutely be going back here for extended stays again.

This hotel is so well kept. Tall ceilings make it feel airy. Full size table and refrigerator allowed us to play games and eat together. Beds are clean and comfy. Everything seemed very well maintained with neutral decor. Breakfast was great with a big variety of options. The pool was quite cold but the hot tub was perfect. We will be back. Thank you for a great stay.

The hotel is up to date, clean and the staff is great. The room had a small kitchen area which was nice. The bed was comfortable and the couch was great for reading or using a laptop. The bathroom was good size and spotless. In some older hotels you can hear every sound but this hotel is new and we didn't hear any hallway noise, the air conditioning was quiet and has thermostat control. We didn't hear any road noise. They also have and outdoor and indoor gathering areas with seating.

We had an amazing stay at the TownePlace Suites. The room was clean and spacious. The pool was a big hit with our kids. The breakfast was delicious with many options to accommodate the whole family. We also left behind our cell phone and as soon as we noticed we called the hotel and Nicole answered and put our minds at ease immediately. She went and was able to locate the phone and reassure us that it was found and walked us through the best way to have it returned. She turned a very stressful situation into a peaceful one with her help! We are so grateful! This hotel truly went above and beyond to make our experience away from home a great one!
