Hampton Inn & Suites Ames

The motel is very clean & well kept. We were staying there during a very stressful time for us and Ana was amazing helping to make our stay very uneventful. The complimentary breakfast in the morning offered many choices and the entire food service area was clean and 2 people were taking care of keeping everything filled. We requested a room on the top floor away from the elevators which they accommodated without any problem. The pool was clean and filled with warm water. So enjoyable.

Stayed here last minute after the original hotel we booked was in rough condition. The room was super clean, bed was comfortable environment was quiet. Slept like a baby and breakfast in the morning was great.

Positive: clean, bright Negative: The maid service started knocking at 9:30 even tho I had the tag up that we were still enjoying the room. They tried to open the door twice - knocked and finally at 10:15 I told them I would be out in 5 minutes. Check out is 11am.

I travel for business. I LOVE being a Diamond member. I walked into this hotel to find 3 managers decorating 1 shelf… and a front desk clerk. Nobody even said hello to me. I even thought I heard one of the women scoff and say “hello…?” as I walked by… almost as if she thought I should have acknowledged her. Almost like a staff member walking in would do. Also, I’m Latina. The hotel never greeted me- not even when I went downstairs in the morning for coffee. I felt INVISIBLE. This stay thank god was 1 day. Thankfully never have to go the Ames for business again. Thankfully it’s not MY money I have to spend on business. I would NEVER spend my money somewhere I don’t feel welcome.

Had a great night stay at this property. The maintenance & cleanliness here was exceptional. From entrances to hallways to elevators. Room was very clean no musky smell and all digital check in and controls worked. Didn't try the breakfast. I'd definitely recommend this location if and when you're in the area.
