A conveniently located flophouse… I stayed here expecting a basic, no-frills budget option in a convenient location, but this was one of the worst motel experiences I’ve had. It’s essentially a flophouse masquerading as a motel. The walls are paper-thin—you can hear every conversation from neighboring rooms, including what sounded like drug-related activity among some long-term “guests” (mostly dealers and addicts, from what I observed). There were clear signs of drug trafficking in the parking lot as well. My room had holes in the carpet, and the sink wouldn’t drain at all. When I reported it to the front desk, the large man working there (who I’d describe as a very large Indian man) became extremely hostile and rude after I didn’t respond positively to his earlier flirtatious/intimidatin
We booked this hotel for the proximity to the waterfront and with parking, we expected to find a billy basic room for what we were paying but clean and meeting basic requirements. We arrived late in the evening to find the hotel room from hell and spent four hours trying to find somewhere else to stay with two beds and parking in the same area to no avail. |The carpet was sticky to walk on, the bed linen was thin and grey with a mattress cover stained with blood and other things and a blanket rather than duvet. Every wall was marked and there were cobwebs everywhere, the paint was peeling in the bathroom where the fan was noisy and blocked with filth and the panel of the sink held on with sticking plaster. We could not use the drawers one of which had the front hanging off. One of the shut
Positive: Location Negative: ""
If there are other options, don't stay here. We were hit with surge pricing due to the JP Morgan Convention so ended up overpaying for this run-down motel by quite a lot. Positives: The person who checked us in was very nice and personable and let us store our belongings before check-in (and let us check in early). Location is decent, but not the best as there aren't many stores and restaurants nearby and it will be a bit of a walk to the main drag of Lombard. There was a mini fridge and a coffee machine (though it wasn't a full pot). Cable TV worked. Shower pressure was quite high. Negatives: There were multiple defects with the room. Stains on the chairs and gnats. Carpet was gross. Paint peeling off the walls. Clear mold spot on the ceiling over the bed. The AC unit had an awful smell
To say it’s HORRIBLE is to say NOTHING! I wish I could do negative stars. There was blood on the wall, no light bulb in one of the wall light fixture, extremely dirty walls, windows would not open. And the cherry on top of this gross cake was a bug on our bed. The pictures don’t do justice on how terrible this place is. The only good thing about it is location and the free parking for the reservation.
