Tilden Hotel

Horrible customer service and shady practices. I've been going back and forth with my credit card company and Tilden Hotel for months to get a refund on the cost difference between what I prepaid for my stay and the total cost on the final invoice Tilden Hotel provided me at check out. Tilden Hotel told my credit card company that the final invoice total was incorrect and they refuse to send me an updated, corrected final invoice or credit me for the difference. Then, when I reach out directly to Tilden Hotel, they tell me that the cost difference is due to the commission the travel booking company charges them for the booking, which makes absolutely no sense - why would I be the one paying that extra cost if that's the cost the travel booking company charges the hotel? The location was good however that's the only thing to recommend this hotel. The website is absolutely photoshopped. The room was dirty with a layer of dust on all surfaces. It has a window AC with plantation shutters so you can either choose between AC or privacy basically. Found hair in one of the beds. The ceiling fan for my room had a remote that apparently also controlled the ceiling fan and light in my neighbors room. We had daily light fights because we were not on the same schedule. I turned the light on at 6 am when they were sleeping and they would then turn it on the next night at 1 am when they got back to their room and I was sleeping. The restaurant was closed and the front desk told me it "might be open later in the week if it passes health inspection". It never opened while

Cozy hotel in SFO, walking distance to Union Square and other places to see in SFO. There is a BigBus stop 2 minutes away.||The receptionists were very friendly and helpful, valet parking was also great.||Rooms were cozy, with mini ref and coffee, bathtub was a pleasant surprise.||There is only one small elevator though and that is the only small downside.

There were some hiccups with the TV and bathroom sink but other than that, my stay was very easy going and pleasant. Manny made a great impression when I first arrived, immediately greeted me and started helping me right away. Joy the front desk lady was very very sweet to me and my children throughout our stay. She provided excellent service to ensure they made up for some of the hiccups. The GM came to fix the TV at his earliest convenience as well even though it was a really busy weekend (labor day weekend). I really appreciated the seriousness of their work. Together, they make a great team to run the hotel

Room was okay fridge was out and I needed it for my insulin was promised a new one all weekend by staff but never received one my insulin had got bad staff never helped with anything at all either they kept saying yes but never helped it stunk so bad like pee in the lobby and outside area horrible experience here and still til this moment I can’t get ahold of a manager supposedly they are never there
