We had an outstanding experience at The Windmoor Hotel! While the staff isn’t onsite, they are incredibly accessible by call or text, and being local means they can arrive quickly if needed. It was clear that every detail was thoughtfully designed to anticipate guests’ needs — in fact, we found we didn’t need anything at all during our stay. The private balcony was perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring, and the blackout blinds ensured a peaceful night’s sleep. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, and we especially appreciated the spacious shower and luxurious bathroom amenities. The single-serve coffee sachets were also a thoughtful touch — convenient and rich and flavorful. Located right in the heart of downtown Blowing Rock, the Windmoor offers easy access to restaurants, sho
We really loved our stay at the Windmoor. The location is right in the heart of downtown so everything is accessible. The building felt very secure and clean but guests should be aware that it is self-service— meaning there is no front desk or on-site staff etc. (The hotel website makes mention but I think people will still miss this detail and take issue.) Our room was upgraded to the presidential suite which was really nice. The room was clean, bright, and well furnished. My only recommendations would be to incorporate 100% cotton towels and linens throughout as well as possibly sourcing NC-made bath products (or branded in general) to add a touch of luxury and locality to the rooms. I think we were solo in the building during our visit (in the off season and at the beginning of the week
My husband and I decided to take a last minute getaway trip to Blowing Rock and stayed at The Windmoor Hotel. We have nothing but great things to say! It’s such a beautiful boutique hotel! It’s right in the middle of downtown, so the location is perfect. You’re literally steps away from restaurants & shopping. It’s extremely clean & cozy! Communication with staff was great. Check in & check out is incredibly easy, as well as parking. Will definitely be our go-to hotel for our future Blowing Rock trips!
Nice, new hotel located in the heart of restaurants, breweries, and shops. Lots of little amenities like a sound machine, tea, waters, etc. A few things we didn’t like were no microwave or coffee (coffee tea bag style didn’t cut it), itchy sheets and no soundproofing from room above. While trying to make it bespoke they forgot the realistic basics. Their townhouses around the corner might be a better fit for us next time.
Such a beautiful stay at The Windmoor Hotel in Blowing Rock 🤍 The space feels cozy, elevated, and perfectly styled with that modern mountain charm. The location is amazing for walking downtown while still feeling peaceful and tucked away. Everything was seamless and welcoming, definitely a little High Country gem we’ll be back to!
