The Inn at Ragged Gardens is our cozy go-to place to stay when we ski at Appalachian Ski Mountain nearby. The Inn is a short drive from Boone, and we love the location in the heart of the quaint downtown Blowing Rock an easy walk to see shops, art galleries, and restaurants. The entire experience from the friendly greeting on arrival, to the well appointed, comfortable rooms, the fireplaces, the bar serving creative seasonal cocktails, and the lovely breakfast make for the perfect getaway! When we stay on the evenings the Best Cellar is open we know we are in for a romantic, delicious dinner experience. I will post photos, but the photos somehow don’t capture the feeling of this special place. Highly recommend!

The Inn at Ragged Garden was a charming, clean, friendly place to stay. We've stayed at Chiteola before, and this place is so much better! We will choose this place for an overnight get-a-way in the future. The staff is so friendly and helpful and I would like to give a shout out to Emma, the front desk clerk. She was so helpful and friendly, you just want to give her a hug! We would have dined at the restaurant if we had known they had one. They were booked and we had reservations elsewhere already established. Within walking distance from the heart of all of the shops and downtown make this a must stay place at reasonable pricing. They have a bar if you want a cocktail before retiring for the evening. I cannot say enough good things about the place.

My wife and I have been going there almost every year in December , since 2011. The people there are Great! Rooms are Outstanding. The food is always very good at the bistro. The only thing that I had a problem with is that, They installed a Bar downstairs in front of the fireplace and removed the couches and chairs, No Christmas tree and minimal Christmas declarations, plus don't do the wine hour prior to dinner. Where people gathered around the fireplace and mingle . The whole atmosphere seem to change with the bar right in front of the fireplace with bar stools instead of the couches . I fully understand business and profit margins. However I feel that was a huge mistake. I hope some of the older customers feel the same as I. It just seems too commercialized like any other place in town

First of all, this is an Inn. Not a hotel, not a resort. It is imperfect, it is old, it is quirky, the floors creak and crack, it can be drafty... in other words, it has character. It is the perfect kind of place we like to stay! If I wanted to stay in a cookie-cutter, sterile environment, I would stay at a hotel. For the kind of Halmark town experience that my wife and I love, this is the perfect place. When you walk in, the enviroment is dark, rich, warm, and inviting. You will see a check-in counter, a fireplace, lots of wood decor, lots of seating, and a bar. The staff is friendly and helpful (thanks Emma!). We stayed in two different rooms over a long weekend, so we had two very different experiences (both very good). 1. The English Rose Suite - first floor King size bed with

I’ve always wanted to stay at The Ragged Inn, so I was super excited for our weekend here and it met every expectation! The Inn is so quaint and cozy, and the staff made the experience even more special. Emma and Karen were so welcoming when we arrived, giving us a tour and showing us to our absolutely beautiful room. In the evening, we enjoyed cocktails at the bar with the best bartenders, Ashley and Spencer, who made it such a fun time. The next morning, the complimentary breakfast was not only delicious but such a perfect way to start the day. Everything about our stay was wonderful, and I can’t wait to come back. Blowing Rock is such a beautiful place, and The Ragged Inn makes it even better!
