Restaurant closed for lunch and dinner, breakfast was a weak continental not up to any resort standard. The kids who seated us and retrieved coffee supplied a small pitcher of cream after ten minutes of asking and yet the next day it was individually portioned cream. Never saw any Food and Beverage Management, no Housekeeping Manager, no General Manager, were they hiding? Arrived Sunday, getting a cold snap, check-in person says, oh I was just informed we will be closed for dinner!!! Room dirty/dusty, mismatched towels, room cleaned only when we demanded it and whoever cleaned it forgot their gratuity. The website will quickly take you to a third party booking so beware. We inadvertently switched to booking.com and while on the phone booking a room, the price for 4 nights jumped from $1200 to $2000. Since we’d already given our credit card info., we could not cancel! We were told we did not purchase coverage for cancellations (EVEN THOUGH IT WAS NEVER OFFERED)! Everything is considered NONREFUNDABLE. We asked for a balcony room which we did not get. So we called directly to the lodge and were told this often happens- third party gets involved. Spoke with a manager who said balcony rooms were sold out long before, yet we were not apprised of that. She seemed sympathetic and offered breakfast coupons when we arrived. She said she’d see what else she could do for us, but never returned as w

We love staying at Chetola! We have been 15 times in the past 13 years and it never disappoints! We love the amenities- dining onsite, the pool, the spa, walking around Bass Lake, visiting the swans, walking to Main St to shop. Already looking forward to our next trip!

Just spent two night at this hotel. Feb 2026.. great location for skiing … unfortunately the bar and restaurant isn’t open Monday and Tuesday nights. Wish I knew this before booking.. NO HOT water, low pressure shower - NOT Ideal - so Monday evening and Tuesday morning cold showers. Reception was informed early Tuesday morning.. after waiting an hour they still hadn’t arrived and I needed to leave. I reported it again when leaving for my appt. However, it was fixed that evening when I returned. Very disappointed and wouldn’t stay here again.

We checked in on January 1st for three nights with our two small dogs. The resort rooms are very clean but the front desk workers need some further training. The pet policy states that, after three complaints, you can be asked to leave and no refunds. We had just finished breakfast when we received a call from Macy, on the front desk, saying our dogs were barking and, unknown to us, this was our second complaint. After arriving at the front desk and talking to Macy, who needs some classes in customer service, she simply stated that the cleaning staff had complained about my dogs barking and that was their policy.
