The Vanguard Ann Arbor, Autograph Collection

I had an excellent stay in Ann Arbor, which clearly needed a new Marriott. Location is excellent. As a lifetime platinum, this is the first stay where everytime I passed the front desk--at all hours--there were two staff members there. shout out to Lee (and the lady working with him) and Emily. As they know, I loved the Zingerman's candy bar. The room was excellent, and I loved the vibe. However, the one big issue is the drive up/parking--there is no pass through driveway and valet parking only. There also are no bell hops to assist with luggage though they will grab a cart for you. given that I paid ~$400/night pre tax, I expected a bit more. As for the driveway, it's just a super tiny dead-end circle to pull up and circle around. That works if the circular driveway is empty, but it

We were pleasantly surprised! The room is very big and has great amenities- Nespresso machine, electric kettle, 2 luggage valets, a coat rack, loads of outlets. We live the decor- especially the wood (?) floors! The gym is really good, has everything we need. Great restaurant. Very convenient location to Michigan campus. Only didn’t give it perfect rating because somehow our room didn’t get cleaned. Sorry, I only have photos of the gym and the view from the hallway.

Gorgeous hotel within walking (10-15) of everything in downtown Ann Arbor. Being a little further away means it’s whiter at night which is nice, valet parking was fantastic and then we didn’t need to worry about the car so the duration of our stay. Rooms were clean and decorated beautifully. The hallway details and even the areas by the elevators were lovely. Our beds were cozy and comfortable and the shower was so big! All the lotions and soaps were scented so nicely. We ate at the French restaurant at the hotel and it was perfection, the space for stunning and the menu had a lot to choose from and all were executed perfectly. We tried a vegetarian dish, a prime rib sandwich and an appetizer to share

Had a wonderful stay here the night before surgery at Univ of Michigan Medical Center. The staff was amazingly attentive and customer-focused. Ethan in particular went above and beyond, even coming to update us about a maintenance issue in our room while we were in the adjacent restaurant eating dinner. Ideal location, size and atmosphere.

We had a wonderful time at the Vanguard. Room was great, staff were amazing. I especially enjoyed the top notch fitness center. Centrally located in downtown AA made it a quick walk or short drive to anything we wanted. We will be back.
