The Surf Beach Motel

Was an impromptu day trip from Charleston, just to walk the beach with horses in the morning…. And EVERYONE who worked there went above and beyond to make our stay so awesome, these best friends want to move south! Front desk, to the bar, to the chef…. Amazing! 10/10 recommend! But it is what you get, a surf side motel! (Albeit the best I e ever stayed in and for the price!) honestly our Deluxe Queen room could have been an awesome studio! And larger than some I’ve lived in! My best friends ONLY COMPLAINT: when I went to Mae her coffee to get out of bed for horseback riding, we had 4 pods that I guess we didn’t inspect well the night before, two black, two green, ALL DECAF!!! I absolutely love this motel! I have now stayed there 5 times! It is in the perfect location right across from the boardwalk to the beach, the restaurant is amazing with a large covered & uncovered outdoor patio, and the best live bands on weekends! My room is always perfect and the size of the showers are huge! I love all of the staff, but especially Chrissy one of the managers and Jackie the most awesome server ever! They both show amazing grace under pressure and their kindness and energy helped make my birthday weekend more perfect!

First of all, Maggie is an absolute gem of a desk clerk. My room was HUGE and clean! The only thing I didn't like was the lack of power outlets: I had to get an extension cord so I could run my laptop and printer while it was on the desk. I chose this motel because it was closer to the conference I was attending on Amelia Island: I could have stayed for cheaper in Jacksonville, but then I would have spent an hour traveling each way, whereas I was just 5 minutes away here. This was a fantastic value and I would highly recommend this place to anyone vacationing here.

I usually never complain, but the room was not what we expected at all. Found a nasal strip on the box spring cover, hair in bathroom drawers, a/c kept kicking off through the night so for 5 nights we had to deal with sweating. Housekeepers was very nice and did at least give us their fan to use for the remainder of our stay. No one offered to move us rooms but kept giving excuses on why it was that way. The restaurant did at least have good food and service. The pictures we seen online wasn’t not what we got and theres not really any shopping area near the hotel so we had to drive around to find food and surf shops. Now it was easy access to beach so that was nice. Over all we won’t book again for 805 dollars we should have at least had a clean room and a/c that worked. We did make best o
