Hampton Inn & Suites Amelia Island-Historic Harbor Front

I wanted to spend a very special night with my wife in Amelia Island and decided book the presidential suite at the Hampton inn. After checking in, we went to dinner and upon our return I realized how bad the room was. The tub was dirty, the sliding glass door to the deck was almost impossible to open. The deck looked onto a wall, check out the video. The bed was one of the most uncomfortable beds I've ever been on. The pillows were terrible. One of the shower heads in the shower did not work properly. The couch and its pillows were stained. The walls were incredibly thin. A lady in the next Room was having a phone conversation and I could hear everything. And the toilet in the bedroom was clogged. There was another toilet in the room and that's the one we used. Great hotel on the harbor front in Amelia Island. We used points/night awards and were upgraded to a 2 queen suite. The room is big and the hotel is quiet, even with a wedding party here. All of the amenities are great - always fresh coffee. Breakfast is typical - there is a 'cafe' on the second floor - but its typical - what I call fake eggs and the waffle machines. They do have fruit, cereal etc. but I would like to see a restaurant onsite especially with not being able to come and go due to the parking situation and most nearby restaurants being pretty small so depends on how busy everything is. The service from employees is great as well. The location is perfect - right beside the welcome center, a couple blocks from Centre street where most of the shops and restaurants are. The only

On a scale of 1-10, I would rate this hotel an easy 10.||The property is clean & up to date, the staff are super friends and accommodating, and the location is perfect (goes without saying). Downtown Fernandina/ Amelia Island is beautiful. ||I've worked/ stayed at a lot of Hampton Inns and other hotels and they all fall miles short of this one. It'd everything you would want from comfortably, cleanliness, and convenient. Will definitely be returning soon!

This hotel disappointed us. Ok it is a Hampton, so it wasn’t super expensive. However, I booked a river view room. Unless you want woken up every morning at 5am to the rumbling of a goods train on the way to the paper mill, I wouldn’t recommend! Also the bathroom could have done with a deep clean rounds the base of the shower. The breakfast was adequate- similar and maybe better than other Hamptons. The hotel also had a lot of dogs - ok I like dogs but in their place. Some guests left their pets to howl in their rooms- which isn’t great. The staff while not unpleasant were uncommunicative- never a welcome or how are you? Didn’t even ask if we had a nice stay when we checked out. Next time we will avoid this hotel and stay in a local bed and breakfast.
