The Study at Yale

We had a south-facing third floor room. With the sun pouring in on cold December days, it was simply perfect! Manager Peggy runs the place really well. Raeesa and Kwan at the front desk were wonderful. Valet parking was prompt. Browsing the FT,WSJ and NYT while sipping the coffee from the lobby service was the ideal way to wake up every morning.

Noisy roads. Other than that it’s clean and receptions are nice.

I stay here anytime I'm visiting family in the area. Rooms are spacious and well-maintained. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. I dont eat at the restaurant often but when I have the food has been excellent. And the free morning coffee in the lobby can't be beat.

I tried to book and even though the booking did not go through, the hotel charged me a no-show fee (of $700!) for the night I was trying to book. Their customer service person was unwilling to discuss it or do anything about it. ||A room appeared to be available for the night I wanted so I filled out the booking form online (including my cc number). When I tried to check out, however, the site said “This room is no longer available.” I never received any email confirmation of a booking (which made sense because the reservation didn’t go through), but after the fact the hotel put a $700 “no-show” charge on my credit card for that night. I communicated with the hotel by phone and email. Both times it was the same person and she simply refused to listen or to even look into it. I understand

1st night was OK, nice big room (at >400 $ you can expect that). But after we left the room Sunday morning around 10am to visit the coast, bad surprise coming back at 5pm to discover that the room was not done: bed not prepared, bathroom not cleaned and towels not replaced. See pictures. The answer is exceptionnal : the service stopped at 3pm and we cannot not clean the room, we can just provide new towels! I insisted with the manager Tyler Anderson : not possible, I insisted to have the bed prepared and the bathroom quickly. He finally came with one employee, he simulated the bed preparation, apparently he never did it (see last picture). I proposed to show him how to do a bed but he left the room with precipitation.
