The Pickwick Hotel

Very good location, close to the Embarcadero, Chinatown, Cable Car, Bart and many groceries and restaurants. The room was not big but it has everything we needed - a comfortable bed, a Keurig machine, TV, a desk to work on, bathroom with good water pressure. The room, the hallways, elevators and lobby are clean and smelled good considering its an old building. Staff are always friendly. There are no homeless people camping outside though the’re a lot of them on the other block but were harmless. The walls are thin though. We can hear the TV and conversations from the other room but nonetheless, the nights were quiet.

I took my daughter for her sweet 16 to see Billie Eilish at the Chase center. The staff were very helpful in giving directions using Muni to and from venue. When we got back, the front desk helped my daughter make Mac and cheese and they were so nice!!!! Rooms are old and need upgrading, but the beds are super comfortable and the staff is excellent!!

We had a pleasant stay at The Pickwick Hotel. The location is excellent — very central and convenient, especially for getting around San Francisco. The staff truly stood out. The receptionists were exceptional: friendly, professional, and very helpful throughout our stay. Any issues we encountered in the room were addressed as best as possible, and their willingness to assist made a big difference. The room itself does feel a bit dated and had a few minor issues, but it’s understandable that not everything can be resolved immediately in an older property. Given the price and the prime location, this is one of the most affordable accommodations in the area. Overall, great value for money, amazing staff, and an unbeatable location.

Never again, have several problems with my room, such as bathroom not having a proper closing door, finding a dead bug on the water bottle they sell, shower knob not working, the ceiling lights turning on and off, at check in I also noticed the room window was open, and walls/doors worn out. Might be inexpensive compared to other hotels, but if I would have known how terrible this hotel was I would have never stayed here. Although the staff is very friendly, the condition of this hotel is no good. Find another hotel.

Exactly downtown San Francisco, close to Powell BART train station, 2 minutes walk from subway station and cable car terminal, it’s very convenient. Hotel staff excellent service, room is clean. The only one minor thing is a bit noise when the bus pass by. No matter what, I recommend.
