The Landsby

I paid high season price, right before xmas so it was $1500. Cons: room service: my room(52) had an exit to the patio, with fire pits etc, very nice but everytime we came back in we brought some dirty in out shoes even tho we tried not to. House keeping came the next day and didn't bother swiping , vacuuming at all. the same dirt was there both days. Cons: restaurant. super crowded, stopped taking walk inn at 530 pm for the rest of the night. But it was ok so have dinner at the bar so we did that. Restaurant and bar were overwhelmed with the amount of guests from OUTSIDE the hotel, service was friendly but terrible.(eg: got drinks, 1 drink missing, got the food but had to wait 10 min for silverware, ordered ice cream and it never came etc etc) and I know its because the server had too mu

This is a beautiful hotel. I appreciated the coziness of the lobby; it was a friendly environment where folks were eating and drinking and spending time. The outdoor courtyards were cute too - the firepits and chairs were inviting for conversation and wine. The room was clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable. This hotel is in the heart of Solvang and has easy access to the whole town. This hotel was recommended to me and I happily pass on the rec to you!

The Landsby is ideally located in the middle of Solvang. The inn is attractive both inside and out. Our Balcony King (#10 avoid) was spacious and nicely furnished but lacked some essentials. Foremost was hot water which took far too long (3-5 minutes) to arrive at the faucet/shower head. Heating failed to warm the room quickly. A large portion of the room lacked the lighting needed to see at night. Aside from the 15%+- in taxes and fees, the $20/night parking charge was an irritant considering the city's free parking lot immediately next to the inn.

Solvang is a great city to visit with kids. We booked a 2 night stay in their deluxe king room. The hotel has been updated about 10 years ago and although decor is nice there were several things that made our stay less enjoyable. It’s January, it was cold, so we did end up spending more time in the room than we would have had it been summer. The bathroom had no window and no vent, so when someone used the toilet or showered there was no way of dehumidifying nor deodorizing the space. No windows in the room opened which gave it a claustrophobic feeling and the deluxe room we booked had no balcony, so much of it felt like a hospital room, except hospital restrooms have vents. The beds did not have fitted sheets, instead it was a flat sheet just covering the mattress which was not even tucked
