I stayed at The Jay Hotel for the New Year’s Eve celebration. From the start, it was clear the hotel was extremely busy. The road leading to the property was backed up due to guests arriving and using valet parking. While frustrating, it was understandable given the holiday and the volume of guests.||Once we finally pulled over, the valet attendant and bellman assisted us promptly and directed us to the 3rd floor for check-in. There was a wait for the elevator, and when we reached the front desk, a line had already formed. Despite this, the check-in process itself was smooth. Spent a very pleasant three night stay at The Jay. They have a water fountain on every floor, and they provide a carafe in the room to refill water, which was very much appreciated. They have a fellow teapot in the room so you can set the water to be consistently hot. The bags of Steeped Coffee that comes complimentary was not bad. The best part is they offer complimentary laundry service for three items of workout clothes, but you have to submit it before 10am so its only helpful if you workout early in the morning. The only complaint is the smell of their bath gel/shampoo/lotion which was scented w fragrance of sage, mineral salt, tobacco, leather, etc. I thought it smelled like Axe deodorant. I had a great stay at The Jay Hotel—wonderful location, stylish décor, and a room that was more spacious than I expected. The experience became even better at the end thanks to their concierge Marques. After checking out and arriving at SFO, I realized I had left a valuable item in my in-room safe. Marques responded immediately, coordinated seamlessly with housekeeping, and arranged for the item to be delivered directly to my Uber driver with clear instructions. Thanks to his professionalism and calm support, I received it in time and made my flight safely. I’m truly grateful for his exceptional service and hospitality.

At first, everything was good with the hotel. It was clean and a nice place to stay. However, after checking out, they sent me an additional charge for items from the minibar in the room. I spoke with the manager and explained that no one had informed me that using anything from the minibar would result in extra charges. Unfortunately, they still insisted on charging me regardless. It was truly disappointing, especially for such a nice hotel, to receive this kind of service. Just a heads-up for future guests: if you use the minibar, you may be charged around $9 even for a soda.

The staff at The Jay were incredibly helpful, professional, and friendly. I have high standards when it comes to cleanliness and bed comfort, and both exceeded my expectations. Getting around was simple, whether on foot or using Waymo. The view from my room was stunning, and overall, I had a fantastic stay.
