Highly recommend stopping here for dinner if you are in the area! It’s fine dining but also very cozy and relaxed. The food was so excellent and the service was top notch. I haven’t had such good service in years. Michaela and Jim deserve all the praise! We came here for our honeymoon and they helped us feel truly special!!!

My son and I shared a king room on a last minute ski trip last weekend. The room was warm and cozy with a nice view of Whiteface. You can’t get a better location for skiing at Whiteface or mt biking in Wilmington. We didn’t eat at the restaurant but the dining room looked beautiful with amazing views. This is an ADK gem.

The restaurant is outstanding! We got all three trout and argued over which was best. If you get there early you can ask for the chef to get the whole trout (head on)! The cocktails were top notch. Amazing views of Whiteface and the river. The atmosphere is cozy and very Adirondack. The duck was amazing, as was the smoked trout appetizers. The staff were super friendly and helpful and we were able to show up in our ski gear and feel totally comfortable. Warm fireplace to greet you when you first arrive. We will definitely be making this a regular spot when we’re in Lake Placid.

Owner/ manager was very nice. The room had a dirty towel hanging in the bathroom, the extra pillows had what looked like dog hair on the pillowcases, and there was a broken chair with stained cushion. It just gives a general impression of being run down. The bathroom was decent and the bed was very comfortable. We have the view out the back of the room was beautiful.

Leave the bustle of Lake Placid. Definitely worth the small trip. The best restaurant ever. They all work as a team to make your experience perfect. They will bend over backwards for you. This isn’t some place with revolving staff. You can find a place that may be fancier but it won’t be better.
