The Hotel Majestic

I had a mixed experience during my stay at the Hotel Majestic. Pros: Large room and bathroom, clean, and great value for the price. Beautiful historic building in a convenient central location. Continental breakfast was decent, though basic. Cons: The bed (mattress and linens) was very uncomfortable, and temperature control was a challenge. Heat is centrally controlled and the window AC unit didn’t work well, making the room too hot for good sleep. Breakfast could also use more variety—especially fruit and hot options like bacon or sausage. Overall: great space and location, but comfort—especially sleep quality—needs improvement.

Wonderful room and historic vibe. Quiet and a good location for the errands I needed to do while visiting the city. Would stay again!

We had a great stay at the Hotel Majestic! It was affordable, beautiful and full of character, and in a great location. We loved being in walking distance of Japantown. It’s also about ten minutes walking distance from the California St & Van Ness Ave cable car stop. Friendly staff! Room was charming. It had a slight smell at first, but it didn’t bother us for long at all. Our room had a lovely view, and a refrigerator, which was a plus. Breakfast was free (!) but basic. There were always hard boiled eggs for protein, but a warm option (scrambled eggs, meat) would have been nice. Finally, the hand painted elevator was a treat; love that there was a cute bug on the wall. Would happily stay here again!

Great location with excellent caring staff. very reponspove and great customer serivce. A nice location with easy access by bus to most places. |Breakfast staff were very nice and took care of every request. Front desk and management were also very accomodating to many requests.|Definitely recommend and a great value for the price. The bartender was very friendly and had a good array of drinks

I had a beautiful stay here. The rooms are filled with unique antique furniture, and the entire place feels so dreamy. Sleeping in the vintage bed with the big drapes made me feel like a princess! Even though everything is antique, the cleanliness is exceptional, the room was spotless, especially the bathroom. The entire building feels like a piece of art, filled with vintage details that really make you feel the history of San Francisco. I would 100% stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone who loves charm, history, and character.
