The Hotel Bentley of Alexandria

I enjoyed staying at the Bentley. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The bathrooms are really small but manageable. The food was absolutely outstanding. My only complaint is the breakfast hash brown patty. It’s literally something you get from McDonalds. With all of their exceptional food, I would think they could give you more than a frozen hash brown patty. Breakfast potatoes would be so much better. But other than that, everything I had was phenomenal.

Positive: "" Negative: The hotel was historic, but could use a deep cleaning. The surfaces were sticky, the walls were dirty, the carpets were musty, the a/c unit in the room was rattling, the mattress was old and too soft, the bed creaked, and there was rust in the bathroom.

Overall nice place.. just make sure they don’t have a wedding planned or you will not be able to take pictures of the lobby and was told we couldn’t be in there…. Even if you are staying at the hotel all weekend . But what could see was very nice …..

Pros: fantastic examples of 1900's architecture, lots of seating areas, cool little history nook next to the elevators on the first floor, fairly new furniture in the rooms, excellent hotel restaurant and bar Cons: cleaning staff smokes and makes the halls smell like cigarettes, pretty sure those emergency stairwells aren't up to fire code, no microwave in rooms The porch, foyer, main staircase, and entire first floor are truly sights to behold. Even the elevators are pretty neat to see. The rooms themselves are ok, with all the standard amenities--except for a microwave. There is a microwave on the first floor in the coffee lounge (where you can also grab packs of tea, coffee, or hot chocolate if you want). Beautiful property inside and out. We visited the Clairborne Room for a Casino Chic themed birthday celebration. Very clean and organized. Be careful in the bathroom stalls...the floors are so clean they reflect like a mirror lol.
