Susan's Cottages

Clean cottage with lots of privacy. A lot more space than a hotel room out on the highway where your car might get broken into while you sleep. We had a good bit of rain that day and I was worried about a muddy driveway. Not here, Susan has put a lot of money into some beautiful concrete drives at the cabin and at her office/house. I asked about any restaurants closer than the highway and Susan directed me to Tunk’s Cypress Inn. Only 3 miles away and we had some great food with excellent service. I had searched for restaurants online and this place never came up. As far as value, I had a room about the same size as a Home2 Suite, at less cost in a much more desirable location. What you need to know. There is no real Breakfast. Gardener's Cottage even though it has the King bed. NO SHOWER. Or Shower handle on the Jacuzzi tub. You will be washing/rinsing your hair with a coffee mug. Great location. Nice pond view behind the cabins. Comfy firm beds. Clean considering in kinda rustic setting. TV, DVD, or Satellite would not work. No one answers the phones so you have to go back to the main house or do without. I'd like to say we would go back, but No. We will drive another hour into Natchitoches where they understand what Bed & Breakfast means. It really could be wonderful. But this was someone else's dream with someone else now running it who misses the mark.

Susan's Cottages gave me such a wonderful experience, one like no other. The owner and family were such a joy! The cottage was absolutely beautiful. The view from the balcony was breathtaking! The beds are so comfortable and the jacuzzi tub was amazing! The rooms come fully stocked with all of your complimentary items so everything is already there and waiting for you. It is just an all-around wonderful experience. They even come with little kitchenettes. I would recommend staying here to anyone anytime. In my personal option, no one would ever regret this choice for a getaway!

Because I had little time to travel, I chose to celebrate my anniversary somewhere near home. From the website, I thought that the cottages would be perfect for me, and that they were. We checked in, and that was it. My husband and I had a quiet evening to ourselves. We stayed in the Gardeners Cottage where we enjoyed dinner and breakfast on the balcony overlooking the bayou. We were not disturbed at all. The owner lives across the street and was available by phone if we needed anything. The room was small, but clean and comfortable, and we thoroughly enjoyed the Jacuzzi. Our stay at Susan's Cottages couldn't have been better!!!||We arrived at 4:00 pm, check-in is between 3:00 - 6:00 pm. (with option to arrange for late check-in) Smiling faces greeted us at the door! We checked in and were off to the room in no time.||The Main House is located across the street from the Cottages, it was easy to locate (Google map was correct, so was gps and there are large signs) ||||All the landscape is very well kept.
