The Hive

This is such a nice place to stay. It is a little apartment! We really enjoyed the location. It’s a 5 minute walk to the riverwalk. The place is very clean and quiet. The appliances were modern and high quality. It even has a reverse osmosis water filtration system! For us, we love that it is dog friendly and hope to return with ours someday. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom is large and has its own heater from the fan which was also amazing. The kitchen is well equipped and the little things like some free snacks and bathroom shampoo and conditioner was very much appreciated. In a time when most are taking amenities away, it was a nice touch. The response time for any possible issues was very good. We had a snafu with the door (our own fault) and they resolved it quickly. It is easy to get ricked at times by Instagram experts. They can definitely take the average, and make it look beautiful. That is definitely the case with the Hive. Furniture was lightweight, and probably great for a dorm room, but not what I was expecting. The walls are paper thin and spent my evenings listening to the clods trudging above my room. Bed was stiffer than the retired battleship across the river. Freezer while had the ability to make ice, had a block of ice in its basket that i can only imagine had been there a few years, since the ice had melted and frozen back together into one large mass. And the K-Cup coffee machine, didnt seem capable of making more than 2 or 3 ozs at a time. But the worst was the service, or lack there of. Despite texting the management about t

We absolutely loved our stay here! The room felt more like a stylish studio apartment — super spacious with its own living room and kitchen. The ambience was really cool and modern, and the shower was amazing. The location couldn’t be better: right in downtown Wilmington, NC and walking distance to tons of great restaurants, bars, and shopping. It was so convenient to just park once and explore everything on foot. Overall, a perfect stay. We’d 100% come back again!

Stayed here last weekend with a group of friends. Loved the hotel and all the unique decor of each room. It is downtown and close to walking distance of multiple restaurants and the river. Highly recommend for a unique boutique hotel experience.

Why stay in a hotel, when you can stay in one of these rooms? Absolutely loved our stay here! Cute little studio, well decorated, comfortable, and very clean! Would not hesitate to stay at The Hive again! Highly recommended!!
