The Embassy Hotel

The reasons I chose this hotel:|Price (<$160/night)|Location (walking distance to War Memorial Opera House)|Airline Points||I read the reviews and knew this would be more like a motel than a hotel. It was far below that. While the water worked and the bed was comfortable, the room was dirty, there was toothpaste splatter on the bathroom walls, and there were only two outlets to power everything in the room.||Now, there was ample storage and the neighborhood was surprisingly quiet.||Sadly, I left clothing items behind. Upon arriving home, I immediately called and was told to call back when housekeeping was available as the hotel was full and the clerk could not check the room.||I called the next day. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! This place is horrible, do your homework and read the other reviews too. While walking the hallway to your room you will quickly be hit with the smell of mold and mildew. One you arrive to your room you will realize the mistake you made while looking around at an old, outdate room with NO air conditioning. The smell of mold and mildew will intensify once closing the door. Becareful when you open the windows becase there are no screens. The matress looks like something that should have been thrown away 20 years ago. The area is crime ridden with homeless lining the street. It looked like zombies walking the area, garbage, drugs and people peeing in the street. We booked this trip through Expedia and luckily they were able to get us a refund so we could find a new hotel

Positive: Location, convenience, cleanliness, felt safe, not noisy, attentive staff especially housekeeping and night auditor/front desk. However, TV did not work and ice/water machine in distant basement of hotel. Negative: TV did not work and ice/water machine in distant basement of hotel.

Very lovely and accommodating staff however our room had clearly not been cleaned including the bedding. The elevator hadn’t been inspected in over a decade. I am not someone to check out of a hotel for no reason but my partner and I chose to book another hotel the night we arrived. Maybe if you need just a quick rest and are leaving in the morning this would be an ok stay. It’s fun retro but not in a sanitary or safe way.

Worst stay ever!!! word of advice ...DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS you're okay with people yelling while they have their door wide open and theyare cussing and slamming doors. I maneuver coming hereagain. I don't remember it. I felt so unsafe there. ISo my friend and I check in and you notice "well its not a 5 star hotel but it'll do" Then we got our room key and the door would not open, the guests next to us had the door wide open and the man was only in his box̌ears, red flags already. We went back to the receptionist and asked for a closer room, causeway were previously the6th floor. We got a room in the 2nd floor and the room was not very clean.
