The Cedars Motel

An absolutely delightful change of pace from chains… They couldn't have been any nicer and more helpful, The room amenities were excellent, and the room and lobby were sparkling. The room was smaller than a chain, which was no issue at all... very cozy and the decor was delightful. Internet was strong. Shower was great. Bed was comfortable heat and cooling worked wonderfully. TV station selection excellent! Great fridge and even a coffee maker in room. Small continental breakfast in the lobby exceeded expectations. Congrats to this young couple for making their dream come true. Only downside is they won't be open when we come back to visit family at Thanksgiving. We would stay again in a heartbeat

Pros: staff is very nice and friendly. Rate is affordable and the location is perfect. They do have discounts to Mackinac islands and I also see shuttle for Shepler’s ferry dropping off passengers. Cons : outdated and very small room (not even chairs to sit, but a stool ) so not everyone could be comfortable sitting. Broken flush, toilet door privacy lock, broken lights. I honestly don’t have any expectations, but sti disappointed as these are the very basic stuffs. I am also surprised by great reviews .

This was a wonderful place to stay. This motel has both modern and cabin like rooms. We had a cabin style room that was cozy, clean, comfortable, and quiet. This hotel is farther down the strip past the airport, so it's quieter. Hannah, the motel manager, was wonderful, very knowledgeable about the area, and very sweet. She even humored my son, who talked her ear off. She has s'more every night, weather permitting, and a simple contential breakfast: cereal and fruit every morning. Would definitely stay again when in St. Ignace.

Rented 2 rooms here for 1 night as we visited Mackinac Island for the day and headed west. The hosts were great. We loved the bonfire and smores at night. My family had a great time around the fire with the other guests. Would stay here again for sure.

I haven’t felt water pressure like this since the 1960s. It’s like a massage in the shower. Hannah and Alex could not have been more kind and accommodating in this retro kitschy motel. The mattresses were new and super comfortable and the bathtub was brand new. We stayed for a week and thoroughly enjoyed it. We would definitely stay there again. There was not a lot of extra space in our room but we worked around that and our stay was well worth it because of the warm, friendly atmosphere that enveloped us there.
