Moosewood Inn

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary and were impressed with absolutely everything about this place. The staff was friendly and welcoming and the rooms were clean and very well maintained. And I loved the Up-North decor (we stayed in The Owl Room) and the little touches like actual mugs rather than plastic cups made a big difference in how truly welcomed we felt staying there. Like a home away from home. There was even a personal note thanking us for our stay and wishing us a happy anniversary! For how affordable this place is, everything about it is absolutely above and beyond. I would definitely stay here again next time I'm in the area and have recommend it to several friends. Positive: It is nothing like a regular hotel. Very downhome decor and friendly staff. They were so helpful with recommendations for all things to do. Highly recommend Negative: Not really

So many wonderful reasons to stay at the Moosewood Inn:|1. The owners are friendly, quick to respond, and don’t charge a mint to stay in a beautiful motel close to the water. |2. The room is so darn cute. Very rustic looking and delightfully decorated for the northern area. The bathroom is huge with the best shower we’ve had in a small motel. Bed was comfortable and the a/c worked great during some very hot weather. |3. The motel is easy to find and has free pickup for the Shepler Ferry to Mackinac Island. If you have a question, the owners will direct you in the proper direction. |I’m so happy we found this true gem in St. Ignace and highly recommend it.

A not so hidden gem (right on the highway) for an overnight stop or a week's respite! Very comfortable and my room was just the right size for one or two people (if you sleep in the same bed). Nicole decorated the rooms herself and her hubby, Brian, renovated them. They make a good team! I could not have been happier even if I stayed in one of the national chain suites in town. And Moosewood Inn was significantly less expensive. Check out the pictures to see the tasteful and functional thoughtful touches with which Nicole decorated.

5 stars will never be enough! The owners were the sweetest people ever! Very helpful and just good people! We loved our room! The shower was amazing and the bed was comfy. I hated the remote control lol but that's not a big deal! It was honestly one of the coolest places we've ever stayed and felt good to support the owners of a small business!
