Loved it before the new ownership. I will not be coming to stay at The Castle any longer, as they painted away the comfort and charm that I loved so much. Looks plain and boring now. I do not like the renamed rooms.
Very interesting place. Glad I went but wouldn’t stay there again. It has a lot of places to trip you up. No hand rails, small steps into the room, into the bathroom, other odd places. We were in the lakeside room and the tub and shower were awful. No safe hand rails to get in and out, curtains for shower were pretty impossible to use. They didn’t get out of the way if you wanted to use the tub. Do not get the top room. The people there were very disappointed. It didn’t have a good door and people could go up there and watch TV which was an intrusion. Felt like a fire trap. But the history of the place is amazing. Be sure to look around. The very best part was the wonderful woman who made a huge, fantastic breakfast. That made our stay there. You won’t get this anywhere else. She is a j
Truly a one-of-a-kind, beautiful inn! The Castle is cozy, yet elegant, with it's gorgeous woodwork. The hot breakfast was delicious, and pleasantly served by two kind chefs. Our stay was made even more delightful with the dock across the street, where we could sip early morning coffee and watch the sun rise. This is an exceptional inn, and we will be back for sure!
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. The Bed & Breakfast has a nostalgic charm that reminded me of family trips in the 90s, with wood paneling and antique artwork throughout the house. The staff were very accommodating to my dietary requests at breakfast, and the atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. We stayed in Katie's Room first and then Patti's Room. We ended up booking an extra night there because we enjoyed it so much. The location is excellent, everything is within walking or biking distance. Highly recommend.
My boyfriend and I stayed in the main house in Ginny's room for 5 days and absolutely loved it! It was a little tricky to find the room as there was no staff present to check us in or tell us where to go. The breakfast every morning was great--coffee, bacon, eggs, sausages, biscuits, yogurt, fruit, etc. I especially enjoyed the fresh baked cookies every day! There was no towel service, but we had access to the closet and were able to get ourselves fresh towels daily. Despite hanging our towels and bathing suits, they never seemed to dry and remained damp in the room. The location was perfect as we were easily able to bike to dinner every night. The view from the top deck was perfect for sunset. We enjoyed going to the pool every afternoon after a long day at the beach. The price was great,
