Ocracoke Harbor Inn

My wife, daughters and I have spent every Thanksgiving on Ocroacke every year since our oldest was born, except after Dorian. Now we're empty nesters so a smaller place is all that's needed. We chose the Margaritaville cottage and it was awesome. Clean, everything you can ask for if you want to cook your own meals. Great sunset views, or morning views, wonderful staff, a perfect secluded spot but within easy walking or biking distance to the village and island sites.

The location is fantastic, but the thing I appreciated most about my room is that it was clean! I travel a fair bit, and a lot of places only give rooms "a lick and a promise," but this housekeeping team makes sure the rooms are spick and span. I also appreciated the updates they have made to the room, including the bedding and the stone countertop in the bathroom. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast bar was convenient. I would definitely stay here again!

Very helpful staff and good customer service. We stayed in one of the suites (initially 302) and unfortunately the bathtub was broken, which made it hard to bathe our toddler. The staff moved us to 301 where everything was updated and worked just fine! Overall both rooms were spacious, had excellent views and nice big fridges. Parking for our car was easy, on onsite golf cart rental was super convenient (btw, you don't *need* to rent a golf cart, but you really should!). Front desk folks were very knowledgeable about local events and attractions! One bit of feedback ...the inflatable couch beds in the living rooms of both suites have seen better days and lost air about halfway through the night-- hopefully something to work on for next season!

We only intended to stay 3 nights, but the storm caused the ferry to close. We were really NOT upset about having to spend another day and night in Ocracoke. It was our first visit to the Island and we had a lot of fun. The Ocracoke Harbor Inn prooved to be a great choice for an inn. The inkeepers were fantastic!!!! The morning breakfasts were very good. The other guests were all very nice and personable. Our second floor room was in the front of the hotel and had a very nice view of the ocean. We had our own balcony to sit on which would have been nice if the storm wasn't bringing rain and high winds. Our room was updated with a beach theme, it was quiet, clean, and very comfortable. The location is right in the town, which has lots of nice shops and restaurants.

We enjoyed everything about our stay. Our room was on first floor and even though it was windy, we were able to sit on the patio outside our room. It was protected by some full bushes which allowed us to sit and enjoy the view of the harbor. Everything was immaculate, which made for such a pleasant stay. Location is perfect. Be sure to find the fabulous coffee spot “Deja Brew” nearby. If you’re going to Ocracoke, book this hotel. You won’t regret it.
